Plot location: Plot lies on the SW-exposed flank of the hill, about 80 meters distance from the summit.
Rock Types Present: large diabase outcrops and debris.
A steep, sparsely wooded diabase monadnock with abundant boulders and bedrock exposures. Vegetation is quite diverse because microhabitats created by the boulders and outcrops are varied. Habitat in the vicinity of the plot is a mosaic of very large boulders (2m+ in length) and bedrock outcrops.
The abundant mosses in this plot were Grimmia laevigata (total cover=6), Parmelia sp. (total cover=6), and Hedwigia ciliata (total cover=3).
